FLOWER PHOTOGRAPHY
When it came to the photography layout we were still in lockdown and to the restrictions, I ended up choosing to photograph flowers, something that there is a lot of and was close to home. When photographing the flowers I decided to make them black and white as I thought it would make them a little more interesting to look at.
When creating the layout, at first I wasn’t sure how I was going to layout the photos, I just knew that I wanted an interesting layout as they are all photos of flowers; because of that, I chose to place them inside geometric shapes to juxtaposed the round and soft shapes used within the other projects.
However, on completion of the piece, I felt that the style of the photos and the piece were not something that matched the overall theme and the layout was a little confusing for the overall piece.
Having the ability to have another go at the piece I chose to do a more classic and simple layout and played around with the size of the images. I also chose to keep the full image of the photography to give the piece a bit more interest and depth rather than flowers on solid black.
Although all the images I shot were in black and white I chose to add a bit of colour to the smaller ones not only to connect with the colour theme of the other piece but also to bring some more interest to the original images.
